Research

We are an interdisciplinary group working at the interface of synthetic polymer chemistry and materials science. Our research is centred on the development of polymeric bio-relevant materials through advanced macromolecular design. We combine synthetic organic chemistry and a range of advanced polymerisation techniques, including cationic (ring-opening) polymerisation, spontaneous zwitterionic copolymerisation and controlled radical polymerisations with (nano)particle formulation and surface modification methods. The thorough characterisation of our materials allows us to gain basic knowledge and establish structure-property-function relationships to prepare tailor-made materials with specific properties for (brain) drug delivery, theranostic and agriculture applications.
